Group Sessions

Group dynamic learning offers a change in behavior resulting from experience, and the group is a therapeutic setting in which each member learns from experience with others in relationships significantly distinct from relationships in the everyday world.  Remember groups begin as a collection of strangers, but over time members become bound to the group by strong social forces that can promote therapeutic change.

Group sessions will be inclusive of 5 to 7 individuals. Each session will be uniquely customized by the individuals who attend. As the session begins, the group will energetically and organically create a group theme for the session through movement and mindfulness.

Individual Sessions

Dance Movement Therapy has allowed individuals the opportunity to bridge the gap between themselves and their universal beliefs.  DMT offers a vehicle for an individual to express and transmit fear, sadness, anger, joy, and all other emotions in a quest for survival and to explore the meaning of life. Individual sessions will offer individuals the opportunity to engage in a somatic movement experience, telling a story through movement, processing feelings, exploring internalized trauma, and developing goals through a psychotherapeutic use of movement.

“Assisting individuals in discovering a descriptive voice for what is primarily nonverbal, Dance Movement Therapy is a healing modality when the mind focuses on the intention of the internal experience rather than the appearance or result of the movement”
